What are Third-Party Tokens?
Third-party tokens are all types of RFID cards or RFID tokens that have not been specifically personalized for use with IDENTsmart TimeRecording.
These could be, for example, the cards for your access system or your vending machines.
To use these third-party tokens with TimeRecording, you need an additional license per card or token.
The additional license is not required for all cards and tokens sold by us or our trading partners as accessories for IDENTsmart TimeRecording.
If you would like to purchase additional cards or tokens, you can find them in our webshop.
Which third-party tokens can I use for TimeRecording?
In principle, all RFID cards or RFID tokens with an ID of up to 14 characters are suitable.
The ID must not change between reading attempts (randomization). The card or token must have the same ID for each reading attempt.
Each ID must be unique. No ID can appear more than once in your TimeRecording account.
How can I find out the ID of my cards or tokens?
For some manufacturers, the ID is printed on the cards or tokens, as is the case with our cards and tokens.
When you hold a card or token to the reading area of your time clock, the read ID is displayed briefly.

If no ID can be read, the card or token is not compatible.

Hold the card in front of the terminal twice and check that the ID displayed is the same both times.
Alternatively, you can read the ID on an NFC-enabled smartphone using an app. The “NXP Tag Info” app is suitable for this, for example. It is available for Android and iOS.
Under the “Full Scan” tab, you will find the ID of the card or token in the “Detailed Protocol Information”.

If you are not sure whether your card or token type has a randomized ID,
read the ID twice in a row and compare them.
How can I assign third-party cards to my employees?
In the employee master data you will find the fields “RFID token” and “Third-party card?”. If it is a third-party card, activate the checkbox “Third-party card?”. You can then enter the read ID in the “RFID token” field. If you have used up your quota of third-party card licenses, you will receive an error message when saving.

If you remove the “Third-party card?” checkbox for an employee, or archive an employee,
the license becomes free again and can be used for another employee.
